Just a rant. The Mails article on NASA's Kepler search was a cracker.Confusing Jupiter and Venus in the space of two lines it told us in the headline all 1235 planets could house ET.Weird then they tell us later only 54 were capable of so doing in the "goldilocks zone".Dont get me wrong,I'm glad these items make an online newspaper forum, but for crying out loud, must do better.
They do seem to assume by the lack of info or back up facts that the science or astronomy reader is as inept as the editing. Not so DM.A celebration of this work,a synopsis of the coming TPF project and a realistic projection of the Drake Equation would have helped.
So,how many does this indicate within 100 ly for example?
